The Colombian Pacific Coast is the region in Colombia that combines the exuberant tropical forest, exotic beaches, fauna and flora, kind hospitality and rich cultural background. Annually, between July and October humpback whales arrive with their newborn from the north in search of warm waters, along with migratory birds and marine turtles.

The climate is warm and humid-tropical rainforest with average temperature of 28ºC (82°F).

The Gorgona National Park is one of the jewels of the Pacific Coast, a paradise for nature lovers and adventurers. It is an island located off-shore from the town of Guapi, approximately 1hour-45 minutes by boat. The island has an extension of 2,600ha of land and 61,687ha are marine areas.

Spanish Conquistador Pizarro arrived in 1527 and renamed the island Gorgona; functioning as a prison until 1,985 when it was declared National Natural Reservation Park to preserve its ecosystem’s endemic species, fauna and flora and coral reefs off-shore.

Nuquí is located in the northern region of the Pacific coast in the Chocó department. Nuquí can be reached by flight from Quibdó or Medellín; or by boat from Bahia Solano.
