Full Day Tour To "Cabo de La Vela"Have breakfast, head northwest from Riohacha to "Cabo de la Vela" (180 km, 4hrs approx.), remote fishing village along the Guajira peninsula tip. Break after 60km to visit salt flats at Manaure. Later in Uribia, the indigenous capital, see Wayuu artistry and handcrafts, hammocks and 'mochilas – woolen bags' are on display. Continue trip through desert following the road alongside railway tracks, on which freight-trains haul tons of coal from "El Cerrejon" mine for export. The road leads-off into the desert passing Wayuu "rancherias" and plenty of cacti. After lunch, travel to "El Faro" viewpoint where a lighthouse beams-out over the sea for fantastic sunset views. Continue to "Pilón de Azúcar" beach, where golden sands are lapped by the blue sea. Return to Riohacha. Visit to
