Santa Marta Tour

Visit colonial district of Colombia's oldest city. Beginning at Santa Marta Bay; Monument to the Tayrona gods, this culture inhabited this region long-before the Spanish Conquistadores arrived; the 'Casa de la Aduana' Museum, which makes part of the Anthropological and Ethnographic Museum where there's a fine collection of Tayrona handcrafts and artifacts, and the Cathedral, second oldest in America. Then, transfer to "La Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino" with its beautiful gardens where the great liberator Simón Bolívar passed away in 1830. Finally, take a scenic tour to the "Rodadero" and fishing village of Taganga bays.

Tayrona National Park Tour

Leave early-morning to Santa Marta, Taganga, and Tayrona National Park. The Tayrona National Park is located on the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta foothills. Covers an area of 17,000 km2 including white-sand beaches lapped by blue-turquoise waters, coral reefs, huge ocean boulders, densely rich forest vegetation, mangroves and famous Tayronas' Lost City.
Get to first entry-point at Palangana. Walk through tropical forest to 'Seven Waves Sea', a natural viewpoint to enjoy beautiful landscape. Descent down to Neguanje Beach into Gayraca Bay.

All Day In Palenque

In the morning, leave from Cartagena to "San Basilio de Palenque", a town located at approximately one hour's drive along "Cordiality Road" to Barranquilla. The town's name comes from Palenques, communities of escaped slaves from the colonial period. This community has survived in San Basilio with their practices, customs and traditions intact. They retain heavy African influence in their daily routines, as their tongue which blends Spanish with African Bantu dialects.

Upon arrival in Palenque meet a family who shows visitors about local customs and way of life here. Also, take a walk around the community to listen tales of religious beliefs and customs. Try some traditional sweets. Return to Cartagena.

Half Day Totumo Mud Volcano

Leave early-morning to the 'Totumo' Mud Volcano, located approximately 50km northeast from Cartagena. Pass by traditional fishing village "La Boquilla", arrival at the volcano after approximately one-hour drive. Once there, climb-up the 15m-stairs alongside the Volcano until reaching its crater at the top. Here, the sulphur, phosphates, magnesium and other elements bubble through the mud and are known for their restorative and curative properties. The mud's density allows that visitors stay afloat and are in no danger making this a fun, yet muddy, bath. After the mud-bath, head to the freshwaters of nearby Totumo lake to wash off the mud. It's time to get ready and return to the hotel.

All Day Archipielago Islas Del Rosario National Park

All day tour by boat to the Archipelago 'Islas del Rosario' located 45km southeast, approximately one hour from Cartagena bay. The national park is surrounded by coral reefs and lapped by clear blue waters and is the natural habitat for a large variety of marine fauna. Three ecosystems thrive here: coastal lagoons, mangroves surrounding them and tropical forest. Free time for snorkeling and relaxation.  Enjoy lunch during the tour.
