At Macondo DMC, we are committed to responsible tourism that creates a positive impact on both local communities and the environment. We replace single-use plastics with reusable alternatives, promote local economic development and social inclusion, support community-based initiatives, and contribute to climate action through concrete efforts in carbon offsetting and ecosystem restoration.

Ecosystem restoration
We actively support habitat recovery through the planting of trees, mangroves, and Colombia’s iconic wax palms as part of our efforts to compensate for our carbon footprint and restore natural habitats.
Eliminating single-use plastics
In collaboration with our clients, we significantly reduce plastic use. Travelers receive a personalized, reusable metal bottle upon arrival in the country, labeled with their name and the client’s brand.
Electric mobility
We promote the use of electric vehicles as a sustainable transportation alternative in Bogotá. These vehicles are integrated into our private transfer and activity services, helping reduce carbon emissions from urban tourism.
Cycling tourism
We encourage the use of bicycles as a sustainable transportation option and a meaningful travel experience in Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena. Our guided bike tours invite travelers to discover each destination in an active, authentic, and low-impact way.
Community-based tourism
We support meaningful tourism experiences in destinations such as Guaviare, Putumayo, Guainía, Caquetá, Nuquí, Bahía Solano, the Eastern Plains, Ciénaga, Pueblos Palafitos, La Boquilla, San Jacinto (Montes de María), San Basilio de Palenque, La Guajira, Ciudad Perdida, Medellín, and Bogotá. These experiences foster direct economic benefits and authentic cultural exchange with local communities.
